Today ..What'sThis ..the one minute to read blog brings you two books by DL Atha. OK, you Vamp lovers take a bite of this.... What's the Title? I've written two novels. The first was Blood Reaction A Vampire Novel, released in 2011. For the Sake of Revenge was released in 2013. I'm currently working on the sequel to Blood Reaction. What's the genre? Both are supernatural thrillers What's the setting? Blood Reaction is set in modern day remote Arkansas. The story has a very secluded feel which matches the landscape. I wrote it that way with the hopes that the reader would feel the desolation of the main character. For the Sake of Revenge is a story within a story. The original action takes place in the Alaskan frontier in 1808 with ties to current day Sitka, Alaska. Name the three leading characters: Blood Reaction's three main characters are Annalice, a young physician and mother, who must survive a supernatural home invasion in order to protect her daughter. Asa is a malevolent vampire who finds her alone and takes the opportunity to terrorize her while threatening her family. He is blood thirsty and broken. Detective Michael Rumsfield is investigating a murder in the neighborhood. He knows Annalice is in danger and although he wants to protect her, he can't quite shake the feeling that she is involved in the bizarre murder of her neighbor. The three main characters in For the Sake of Revenge are Tamara, Adrik, and Peter. Tamara, the main character, is a complicated and highly flawed individual. She's been betrayed in the worst of ways and wants somebody to pay. Adrik, a long tortured soul, turned vampire for the single purpose of extracting revenge. Now he's willing to help Tamara at a pretty high cost. Peter is the exact opposite of them both. He's good, kind, and desperately in love with Tamara. Describe Blood Reaction in a few sentences? Blood Reaction is a story of motherly love and what one woman is willing to do to protect her only child during a supernatural home invasion by a centuries old vampire. The story is both sensual and dangerous and offers a look into the not so pretty side of vampirism. Describe For the Sake of Revenge in a few sentences? For the Sake of Revenge is a story of revenge and betrayal that spans two centuries. It explores the Russian lore surrounding vampires and it's ties to the Russian Orthodox church. The main characters are highly flawed but I found myself rooting for them anyway. I love to write and my happiest moments are when a reader sends me feedback about the books that I've written. I enjoy hearing about their connections to the characters, what they liked and even what they didn't like. Writing is always a work in progress that you can never master fully. I love bringing out the extremes of emotions in my readers whether it be love or hate, terror or humor. My characters are rarely completely loveable or easy to hate. They often mirror what I see in my clinical practice as an internal medicine/acute care hospital physician. When at all possible, I try to incorporate medical history and facts into the story line. I'm currently working on the sequel to Blood Reaction. DL Atha, having the good fortune to have been raised in rural western Arkansas, resides there still with her husband and three children where together they enjoy the farm life. She earned her MD in 1999, and currently enjoys the practice of hospital medicine and wound care which she performs full time in a nearby town. She is currently working on the sequel to Blood Reaction. For the Sake of Revenge was her first venture into non-medical fiction. A few of her favorite things are chocolate, anything old but especially old houses, gardening, and horses. Her least favorite things are getting up early, anything that happens before nine a.m. and constricting clothing. Ramey is aloof until he needs to be otherwise, and even then he doesn’t come around completely. He has his reasons. Adrik is evil sent from the Dark. He is also very persuasive - as good looking men can be. His name means “dark” in Russian. What can you tell us about the story in 3-5 sentences? As bookbub.com summarized it the best, I’ll use what they have: A recurring nightmare, an old necklace, a strange boy: Billie’s 16th year is anything but normal. Get your spoon ready and dig right in. What's the title? Jambalaya What's the genre? The genre is Humorous Fiction. What's the setting? It is set in the Deep South of somewhere, where is up to you, but it does seem to bear a passing likeness to the U.S.A. What are the names of your leading characters? Judge Garden His daughter: Celany The maid servant: Ulolulo What are 3 things you want to share about each of the characters to named? Judge Garden The Head of the Garden household. Actually, he comprises precisely one-third of the Garden household, along with his daughter Celany and their maidservant, Ulolulo and with two strong women like that about, even he isn't sure who's in charge. Thankfully now retired from the Bench, Judge Garden had very clear ideas about the notion of justice. Not for him any of this namby-pamby nonsense about people being innocent until proven guilty. In his view, everyone is guilty of something, it's just a matter of finding out what. He takes the concept of 'original sin' very seriously. Miss Celany Garden Our heroine(ish). Daughter of Judge Garden and engaged to Captain Richard Verruca but pursued by the notorious Riverboat gambler (he kept losing them) Max Vobiscus. Chaos tends to surround Celany but she floats serenely through it all. Two attempts to kidnap her only result in the abduction of Ulolulo and a Major who thinks his name is Agnes. Only a Southern Belle could keep her composure amongst all of this Ulolulo Sodme The Maid of all Work at the Garden Household. Ulolulo is a resourceful lady with a mysterious past, a decidedly odd present and an uncertain future. One night, all of the lights in the house had gone out and there, at the front door, was Ulolulo, her once blonde hair, blackened and standing straight from her head, sparks flying from the fillings in her teeth. Now, she was a much valued member of the household staff. In fact, she was the only member of the household staff. Ulolulo had sensibly refused to sleep inside any building erected by the Judge and now lived happily but warily in a hole in the ground." What can you tell us about the story in 3-5 sentences? The story is basically Gone With The Wind meets Airplane, which should give you some idea of what to expect. If you like your humour a little on the silly side, and you're a fan of the great British tradition of word-play, stretching from 'The Goons' to 'The Two Ronnies', via the 'Carry On' series and Benny Hill for a healthy(?) dose of innuendo and double-entendre, then take a look. where can we buy your book(s). There wasn't a moment that I wasn't engaged with the characters or the plot. The build up of mystery and tension in this suspenseful romantic novel is superbly done. I found myself constantly holding my breath and nervously listening for creaks in the house. There were some beautifully crafted romantic moments that had me swooning for Dylan, and several moments when I shed a tear. Stunning! The novel flowed very well effectively creating a good balance of suspense, character interaction and the lovely romance. The ending. Oh my! Tiffany, what an ending you have created. I have no idea what to expect for book two, other than I can not wait to read it, and no doubt it will be as wonderful as The Imposter.” -Becky Johnson, Bex and Books Find out more about Tiffany Carmouché http://www.tiffanycarmouche.com/#!home/mainPage Web Page http://www.facebook.com/TiffanyCarmoucheAuthor Author Page http://www.facebook.com/tiffany.carmouche.5 Facebook Page http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15747559-the-imposto Goodreads The Impostor http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16228823-obsession-and-sacrifice Goodreads Obsession and Sacrifice Release Feb 2013 https://twitter.com/ tiffcarmouche Obsession & Sacrifice- Love Story, by Tiffany Carmouche, New Page for Obsession and Sacrifice *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOaIExYG5YQ Fan Made Trailer!
