Ahoy mates! Calling all Swashbucklers, pirates, and those who love High Sea adventures. Karen Perkins has penned a unique series.
You'll sail from the colonial Massachusetts Bay to the Caribbean along with Gabriella Berryngton. A fourteen year old seeks a release from her depressed home-life. Thinking being sold in a marriage arrangement by her father would be an answer to her prayers she sail away to her unknown groom...
She discovered marriage is not the bed of roses she expected. And so the saga begins...
In Look Sharpe:
You will pick up with the story of Lord Henry Rowleston. The Lord faces his reality on his father's deathbed. He faces financial ruin. He hopes a journey to his uncle in the Caribbean is the answer to his problem. Ah alas, they are not. Now under the name Henry Sharpe he learns that his uncle isn't his salvation. But, maybe his damnation instead.
Karen Perkins has down a bang up job with her characters. She also has brought to life the realities that might have been, so many years ago aboard a sailing ship that hunted and plundered. She uses the first person narrative well. Each book in the series has it's own original feel.
Lovers of the historical high seas and it's ships or just an island lover you might just want to try one of her books in the “ The Valkyrie Series”

Lisa Day... Through Lisa's Eyes... A review of:
Lisa Day begged and Jacquie relented and sent me her book..
I just finished Ms. Rogers' new book. What's not to like about it, if you're a fan of the Historical Western Romance genre. (Even if you're not.) The search is on for the missing Patrick. Our hero and heroine travel between cities as time begins to run out. The mode of transportation; the railroad of course. It is Silverton, Colorado June 13, 1883. Trust me, you'll shake out your clothes and want to wash the soot from your hair as her vivid descriptions make you think you're riding along.
Let Ms. Rogers takes you on this journey. I promise you'll enjoy the slow build as the characters come alive and you begin to root for your favorites. She has thrown in a twist or two to keep you surprised. Who doesn't like that. There is only one warning... Spoiler Alert...When your finished reading “Sleight of Hearts” don't believe you know how to play poker and gamble your money away. Leave that to the professionals like Burke and Patrick.

Lisa Day... Through Lisa's Eyes... A review of:
Through Lisa's Eye looks at Kit Morgan's book, and the first thing I thought of when I saw the cover of
His Prairie Princess was its simplicity followed immediately by its purity.
His Prairie Princess manages to fulfill both expectations admirably. Ms. Kit Morgan starts us right in the middle of Sadie Jones' dilemma tied to a chair. One she recklessly brought upon herself being a strong willed female. Sadie needs a hero and fortunately for her there's one hiding under the cabin's porch.
Harrison Cooke our hero does come to the rescue. Sadie, however is on a mission and the tiny town of Clear Creek doesn't seem to be able to prevent Sadie from finding herself in need of a hero again. There is no stopping Harrison from coming to his princess's rescue even if he feels less than adequate to reach out and claim her.
Here's some good advice from the town's Doctor on courting:
Doc saw the determined gleam in his eye. “That’s it boy! Go get her! Don’t let those fancy manners you MA beat into you spoil a good thing! She’ll be more of a mind to let you court her if she knows how you feel!”
“Court her? What happened to staking a claim?”
“All women want to be courted at least a week before they get married out here.”
A week might be right in courting, but I wouldn't wait that long before you try His Prairie Princess by Kit Morgan. An entertaining story that will keep your interest without offending anyone.
And then there are three (oops now4) more waiting for you to enjoy in the series.
Little information about Kit Morgan:
Kit Morgan, aka Geralyn Beauchamp, was written for fun all of her life. When writing as Geralyn Beauchamp, her books are epic, adventurous, romantic fantasy at its best. When writing as Kit Morgan they are whimsical, fun, inspirational sweet stories that depict a strong sense of family and community.
'His Prairie Princess' is the first of the Prairie Brides books and the first in the series of a long line of stories about Clear Creek, Oregon. One of the whackiest little towns in the old west! Get to know the townsfolk in Clear Creek and come sit a spell!
If you like Kit Morgan's books then you might also like the Time Master Book series written under Geralyn Beauchamp and can be found on amazon.

Thanks for passing by Through Lisa's Eyes and dilly dallaling a spell. I love the Historical Romances. My favorites are the American and Western Frontier. That's why I dabble in it and why so much of what I share is in the genre.
Y'all have a great day and please share the site with a cowgirl, cowboy, bandit, or any gambler that crosses your way..
Wheezer And The Shy Coyote by Kitty Sutton
This is the second book by Ms. Sutton I have read. For the second times she has managed to shared a story to keep our interest while educating us about a sad time in history.
As the story opens we are introduced to a coyote that happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Soon, Ms. Sutton has us feeling in depth the confusion and sadness of loosing a life long mate.
Sasa and Wheezer don’t realized they are being watched, or should I say Sasa doesn’t realize. And so, Ms. Sutton brings us up to date on the characters we met in her first book.
If I came call it, ‘fictionalized truth,’ we are entertained by the story. Yet we are or should be ashamed of the greed some people went to make a dollar at the expense of other people’s happiness or even their lives. While men in responsible places in history turned their backs.
Wheezer and The Shy Coyote is a love story, a suspenseful, educational and delightful tale, that should not be missed.
Here's where you can get your own copy.
Lesson Learned... ‟Never judge a book by it’s cover or title. I saw this book as it did the rounds on the internet. My first impression was it’s about a childhood fable. WRONG.
‟Wheezer and the Painted Frog” by Kitty Sutton is for anyone with a heart.
Sometimes we need to be reminded of the many people who’s lives were or are full of suffering and heartache. Kitty will do that, so gently you’ll flip through the pages one after another with true earnest to see what happens next.
The story might be told from a young person’s prospective and Wheezer the dog might be the hero but any similarity to a child’s tale stops there. A Drama and Murder mystery set at the end of the dark Trail of Tears march.
You will discover an emotional ride as she builds slowly to a story about loss of loved ones, the cruelty of greed, and the lengths people will go to accomplish and hide such facts.
Kitty Sutton does this as we face our country’s own history during a dark time for those affected by it and those who ignored its happening. She weaves the historic elements to perfection. She made me wonder if her fictional parts were closer to the truth than recorded history. Not to be ignored there’s a touch of romance and a smidgen of justice for some.
Reading ‟Wheezer and the Painted Frog” will be time well spent.
Excuse me while I go read, ‟Wheezer and the Shy Coyote.”
PS. I tried to come up with a different cover shot or title: funny nothing else works better than the way Ms. Sutton has done it.
Here's the purchase links for both books.
