Handy- dandy ions below!
If you have visited my site before than you know than I'm a genre snob when it comes to choosing which books to read. Since, I also am one of Fabulosity Blog hostesses the privilege gives me an opportunity not only to learn about authors, but to share their great books. So, when I featured “STRUGGES OF THE WOMEN FOLK” by T.M Brown I for some reason was immediately drawn to it.
Ms. Brown has the ability in just a few opening lines transport you to another era. A time that sadly isn't too far back in our history. Most of us usually live a so called normal life, a life with a balance of good times and those not so good times. Other people seem to live almost charmed lives. T. M Brown's heroine sadly is one of those who has tragedy and despair fill her life.
That said, if you like when the author has a way with words and her style captures you page after page you will enjoy the time spent reading “Struggles of the Women Folk.” I know I did.
I don't believe in spoilers so I'll just say. In my mind's eye... I shared the fear Georgie felt in the school house... I walked down the dirt road with Georgie and her mother. I grieved with her at the betrayal of those she trusted...
Best of all, I thought about this story long after I finished reading it.
AND... isn't that the best reason to read any book.
Well done, T.M. Brown!
